A graduate of the University of Houston/College of Optometry, Dr. Alibhai works with the National Eye Institute and lectures to optometry societies and ophthalmology residents and low vision support groups for the Prevention of Blindness Society. Following a fellowship in low vision rehabilitation at Johns Hopkins’ Wilmer Eye Institute, he began practicing low vision rehabilitation in the metropolitan Washington DC area for the past 30 years.

Our special guest, this month is low, vision specialist, Dr. Kara Crumbliss, O.D., F.A.A.O., chief Compliance Officer, Senior Vice President, Clinical Services Enterprise. Of the Chicago lighthouse.
Dr. Crumbliss oversees The Lighthouse’s world-class vision clinic and practices vision rehabilitation in our Main and Huber Vision Rehabilitation Center clinics. She also works as the coordinator of the Illinois College of Optometry’s Low Vision and Geriatric Ocular Disease Residency and as an associate clinical professor at the Illinois Eye Institute. Her research and lecture interests include the association of low vision with Charles Bonnet syndrome, cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Crumbliss earned a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry and completed residency in Low Vision and Ocular Disease at the Illinois College of Optometry and the Spectrios Institute for Low Vision. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry’s Low Vision Educators special interest group. She is also an executive board member of the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness

Our special guest, this month is low, vision specialist, Dr. Kara Crumbliss, O.D., F.A.A.O., chief Compliance Officer, Senior Vice President, Clinical Services Enterprise. Of the Chicago lighthouse.
Dr. Crumbliss oversees The Lighthouse’s world-class vision clinic and practices vision rehabilitation in our Main and Huber Vision Rehabilitation Center clinics. She also works as the coordinator of the Illinois College of Optometry’s Low Vision and Geriatric Ocular Disease Residency and as an associate clinical professor at the Illinois Eye Institute. Her research and lecture interests include the association of low vision with Charles Bonnet syndrome, cognitive impairment and Alzheimer’s disease. Dr. Crumbliss earned a Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry and completed residency in Low Vision and Ocular Disease at the Illinois College of Optometry and the Spectrios Institute for Low Vision. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Optometry and a member of the Association of Schools and Colleges of Optometry’s Low Vision Educators special interest group. She is also an executive board member of the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness

Broadband access for all! Special Let’s Talk Low. Vision episode for everyone, but especially people who are blind or have low vision and have little or no internet access. Please share this recording with others to let them hear about this new program from the FCC. a one-hour presentation by the Federal Communications Commission on the new Affordable Connectivity Program. This program is meant to assist people with limited income or receiving government programs, such as SSI, get connected. Our very special guest is Gerard Williams, Compliance Officer for the FCC.
