In 2021, The CCLVI Board approved a new award – The Bernice Kandarian Service Award.  In 2022, it was awarded posthumously to Bernice and then, thereafter, will be given to an active CCLVI member who exhibits similar passion and service.

About Bernice Kandarian

Enjoy learning about the inspiring life and contributions of Bernice Kandarian. Born in California, she earned her bachelors degree at Arizona State University Tempe, and then on to work in several prominent professional roles including the Social Security Administration. A long time advocate and leader for the blind and people with low vision, she had an indelible impact on the American Council the Blind and the Council of Citizens with Low Vision International.

CCLVI Event – Remembering Bernice

This time of remembrance was open to everyone in our CCLVI and ACB Communities. ACB Angel Wall
