CCLVI is holding a Spring Fling auction from Friday, April 4 at 12:00pm Eastern Time to Saturday, April 5 at 12:00pm Eastern Time. This is similar to the ACB national auction’s Appetizer event. Bids will be taken by email and phone. A list of items will be provided from which to choose. There will be updates several times throughout the auction to let you know what the current highest bids are. The proceeds from this auction will be donated to the ACB Kids Explorers Club, which happens at the ACB National Convention. This donation is being made in memory of Fred and Alexa Scheigert, benefactors of CCLVI’s Fred Scheigert scholarship program.

This standing bunny stands approximately 12 inches tall with 5-inch ears. His face and body are made of a firm white resin, while his paws are padded and covered with white felt. He wears blue felt pajamas with three white pompoms down the front and a hood over his head. There are tufts of white hair showing above his eyes. His face has been painted with brown eyes, gold whiskers and mouth, and a little pink nose. His right arm holds a hand-painted flat Easter egg on a long stick which extends from his shoulder to his foot. The pink, green and yellow Easter egg has pink, purple, and yellow ribbons hanging from it. There are blue and white ribbons tied at both wrists and around his neck. The base is solid and measures approx. 4 inches.

Enhance your collection with this exquisite Jim Shore figurine in his hand-painted Heartwood Creek collection, titled ‘A Taste of Summer Goodness’. This six-piece set features a two-tone green ceramic resin watermelon basket measuring 8 inches tall by 6 inches round with five colorful fruits. The set includes an apple with a hand-painted country scene, a pear with flowers, a strawberry, a plum, and another carved fruit. The inside of the watermelon is painted in shades of pink and there are two small metal leaves on each side where the handle joins the watermelon. The intricate carving on each piece is very tactile. There are colorful red flowers with yellow centers and green leaves carved the entire length of the handle. The tag on the handle reads, “‘Heartwood Creek, richly colorful. hand-painted and old fashioned, will rekindle warm thoughts of years ago.” This Jim Shore set is from his 2007 collection and features fruits, making it an excellent gift for anyone who loves to garden or enjoys the beauty of nature. Jim Shore’s Heartwood Creek “Spring Love” figurine is a springtime lighted diorama of a bunny couple, illuminated when the light is turned on by a slide switch on the bottom of the figurine. Batteries are included. It measures approximately 8 inches tall by 5 inches. It is a large hand-painted egg-shaped figurine painted in stripes which meet in a point at the top. The center section has a quilt pattern with squares of pink alternating with squares of blue, green and cream. Below that is a 1.25 inch band of green. All this is sitting on a hand-painted base with colorful flowers and designs around the entire egg. Followed by a band of cream and a smaller band of pink. The tan girl bunny is wearing a painted pink dress with a white apron and a pink bow on her head. She is holding a basket filled with colored eggs. The boy bunny is wearing a blue vest with a big red bow tie. His hand is covering her hand as she holds the basket. They are standing in a recessed area of the egg with a white picket fence behind them, green grass and colorful flowers near their feet. There is a butterfly in the sky flying near them. The Jim Shore tag is tied around the base with twine This Spring Love figurine of his Heartwood Creek collection is in perfect condition, in the original box with the protective styrofoam. It would make a great gift for the hostess to use as the holiday centerpiece or as a Spring decoration. The label on the box says “Spring Love” Quilt Pattern Spring Fancy, Spring Egg Diorama/Lighted Easter Scene Figurine 2009.
